Puppy Fudge Sunday

We imagined before us a vast banana split.

Plump yellow fruits ripe from the endless forest.

The elves set to peeling and as they sang, cherries were dropped by phoenixes from the bright blue sky.

They fell to earth in plops. Whipped cream splattering the wind.

We started to dig with a new melody and as we unearthed the frozen tundra we found veins of chocolate, vanilla, pralines and cream.

Caramel geysers spouted and launched crunchy gooey bones across the creation.

The ground was ripe for churning.

A gush of wind and bells brought waves of fairies. They danced and sprinkles fell from their fingers, eyes and toes.

Vats of hot fudge rolled in by unseen forces.

Cauldrons bubbling and steaming with cacao from the darkest corners of the jungles. Sweetened by honey from the interdimensional bees.

The cauldrons tipped, and fudge flowed over the bananas and ice cream, flooding the scene.

Only one ingredient was missing.

“Bring in the puppies!”

Golden retrievers were set free from gates. They frolicked and hopped and slide. Smiling and licking and playing

They ate and slimed and yelped and rolled with each other.

They bounced around and up and down until the split was a slimy mixed mess and all the puppies were tired and laying down. Sides heaving sweetly in the sweet goo. All coated with sticky sweetness and filled with it too.

We walked our way in and started to chew.

One leg here

a head there.

Some sleeping, some awake, a few went to our bellies shrieking, others dreaming.

We ate them all down

sucked on their bones

marrow filled with joy

soaked with hot fudge Sunday

Breakfast was done

the day was young.

So we went right along and sang a new song.

Beyond the Gates

Beauty awaits

rising high

pouring sunlight

honey running down the gates

We stand at her steel mercy

waiting for a sign

that life may open to us

that we may walk forward

and all we hear is laughter

rising from the dark wood

the forest that surrounds us

that tempts and frightens

Filled with fireflies

and sharp teeth

fears of the past

monsters made flesh

with hearts in their mirrored eyes

the kind that spurt blood

as they’re ripped from our chests

So we wait and we pray

for the easy paved road

with every step lit

gated off from darkness

protected from death

for awhile at least …

This road of progress leading nowhere

going further every day

Brick by stolen brick

built of treasures

secrets of the forest

blood of the earth

gifts formed by eons

stepped on

ignored with mirth

A man with a gun walks our way

with a creak, the gate opens.

“Only one,

you, born in May.”

He points at me.

I step forward, past the disappointed crowd

No idea why

only I,

am allowed

Was it my father?

my white skin?

a twist of fate?

What boon let me pass?

to walk beyond the gate

Who am I?

to walk fancy free

on the bones of others

past quarters of slaves

shackled by chance

by their birth

and god’s rolling dice

“Why must they suffer?” I ask

“So that we may stay clean,” answered a guard

“Are we not dirt?”

“Aye, but let them dig for us,” said the guard

“Don’t question the way

or we’ll throw you in, too.

or out to the wild beasts

into the jungles where we begin.

Isn’t it better to walk with us?

Warm and free

Where no monsters can touch us

save you or me?”

So I walked slowly on

without meter or rhyme

past frozen clouds

gorged on too much time

The easy path led me alone

until I looked down

I stood on two stones

carried by a man

and I asked him his name

“Robin, good sir,

though why do you ask?

I’ll carry you until I die

and you have their power

the privilege to ignore me

to forget I’m like you

So why do you ask my name if there’s nothing to do?”

“Because there is, dear Robin

something to do in a way

much to do

for we’ve both been led astray

First, put me down

don’t carry me this way.”

And Robin lowered me down

my feet on the ground

I saw into his eyes

ran my fingers across scars on baked skin

“No one was meant to walk for another

our world has gone ill

We’ve sacrificed our humanity for steel gates

and the safety of lies

Let us walk together

freeing those as we can

and when we have a chance

back to the woods

back to the truth

We’ll build a new world

Where all people matter

and we’ll teach everyone how to live

and let go of their vengeance

so that we can find peace

We’ll grow our own food

and use light from the sun

The monsters, I know

and they will be our friends

scaring the guards

keeping the cowards at bay

and one day we’ll be many

and we’ll free all our sisters and brothers

leading them from the fence

leaving those with empty power to fend for themselves.”

So we stepped through the bars

slipping by the fence

out from neon lights

and into the stars.

If we are brave the unknown will adopt us and feed us miracles

If we are brave the unknown will adopt us and feed us miracles
Though we may teeter on the verge of oblivion
We only see the truth our world hides from
That we all stand on the edge of oblivion
Every moment a razor thin foothold between the known and a dark void Now and then Here and after Life and death
When we learn to walk without the fear of falling the edge expands
And we can see that self-doubt is our only enemy.

Blue Moon

Blue moon

Bare feet on the soft Earth

Light rippling on sleeping lakes

Trees telling their secrets to the night

Waiting for the sun to return

Goddess of the night whispering through the leaves

Blue-silver light undressing the soft curves of the forest

Aspen eyes flashing back love

Stories weaving memories and hopes for the future

Another night under the stars

One more for the road

Soul food for our endless journey

Soak in new life for the path

Revel in the magic of being

You’ve surely had your darkness

Long nights where the storm of loneliness howls

Ripping holes in your heart

Knocking you to your knees

Bleeding hope from your eyes

But, like all storms, they passed

And though they may come again

The pain and the scars aren’t yours to keep

Unless you ask them to stay

Your light is older than the moon

It burns eternal in the heart of stars

Our journey has never begun and will never end

So dance

Soak up the moonlight and walk with your dreams

Hold the hand of magic and run

Let go

You’re already soaring

To write, to exist, to play music! Even badly…

To write, to exist, to play music!
Even badly
What exquisite beauty,
Of all the things, places, people…
to be me, here, now…
Wowwww… Follow the thread,
feel life flowing through youThe serpent dancing,
coiled around the hearts of time
Note by note
always swaying
Even in the mad rhythm of a city
Fast! Slow
Everywhere in between
What love this is fleeting moments where lives connect
Stars slipping through fingers
Each word, an ocean every gaze a river

Pour me a shot of infinity

Pour me a shot of infinity.
A toast!
To the world in all its beauty
Its horror and joy
How I love your wild corners
The sparkling hills and bleeding canyons
Cities of rock sculpted by wind
Landscapes carved by legions of time
Pour me a shot of infinity
I need it to wash down the day
To remember the magic
And see clearly again
Pour me a shot of infinity
I wish to see into her eyes
For love to wake up again
I’ll pass out drunk on illusion in the meantimePour me a shot of infinity
We’ll swoon with truth
Stumbling and bumbling through profundities
Slurring myths and gulping stories
Let’s dance the Ghost Dance and send the world back to the land
Pour me a shot of infinity
I’ll transmute it into dream
We’ll float away on recognition
Soar high on understanding
Pour me a shot of infinity
Let’s get sloppy with love
and sincere about letting go
Pour me a shot of infinity
I want truth
It’s my purpose to know
Pass me the bottle. #infinity #truth #magic #writing #notebooks #passmethebottle http://ift.tt/1NH14T1
